Ana Lívia Agostinho is a professor at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), Brazil, since 2016. She holds a PhD in Portuguese Philology from the University of São Paulo (2014) and specializes in Phonology and Contact Linguistics, having worked mainly with the Creole languages of the Gulf of Guinea and Portuguese spoken in São Tomé and Príncipe. She is the editor of PAPIA – Brazilian Journal of Contact Linguistics since 2015 and the secretary of the Brazilian Association of Contact Linguistics (ABECS). She is currently spending a sabbatical year as a visiting scholar with the Department of Linguistics at University of California, Berkeley with a CNPq PDE grant.
